ENRICO SCELSI
PhD Student
Enrico Scelsi got his Bachelor degree in Chemistry at the University of Bari and his Master degree in Chemical Sciences at the University of Bari in 2018, dealing with the chemical recycling of waste BPA-Polycarbonate through hydrolytic depolymerization catalysed by natural chlorite. In 2020 he obtained a Master focused on the Waste Management, Circular Economy and 4.0 Industry. From October 2020, for three years, he worked as research fellow at Water Research Institute of Italian National Research Council on several projects aimed at the synthesis of biodiesel from the lipids present in the sewage sludges and the valorisation of residual biomasses for the synthesis of high value added products. In 2022, he spent two months at Instituto Tecnologico de Aguascalientes (Mexico), working on the international project IPropBio for the Burdock plant biomasses valorisation. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemical and Molecular Sciences at the Chemistry Department of Bari for a project aimed at the extraction with supercritical fluids of the lipid component present in food wastes for the synthesis of biofuels in collaboration with ENI S.p.A.
